RSCM Award

On 14th October 2017 Philip Crookall was awarded the Certificate of Special Service by the Royal School of Church Music at a ceremony in Canterbury Cathedral.  The citation reads as follows..

"Philip Crookall has been involved in church music since the 1950s.  As Choirmaster/Organist of several churches in Cheshire, he has recruited many choristers to courses and festivals and to the Cathedral Singers programme, directed Deanery Festivals, promoted the RSCM Chorister Training Scheme and served as Treasurer of the RSCM Chester Area Committee.  Thirty years ago he founded the St. Christopher Chorale which has visited over 100 churches to support worship."
